Set up the MCP

The MCP connects your AI to your training data. First time here? Get Started connects your watch and your AI in three steps.

Add it once, on the web, desktop or phone, and it shows up in the others. Works on every plan, Free included. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it for everyone.

  1. In any chat, open +, then Connectors > Add connector > Add custom connector
A new Claude chat with the plus menu open on Connectors, Add connector, Add custom connector
  2. Name it, paste the link and click Continue
    https://mcp.pacing.tools/mcp
The Add custom connector dialog with the name Pacing Tools and the link https://mcp.pacing.tools/mcp
  3. Keep the detected settings, click Add, then Connect
  4. In the browser, click Continue connecting, sign in or join, and click Allow

Make sure Pacing Tools is switched on under +, then Connectors:

Ask Claude for your recent activities. If it answers with your own numbers, you are set.

On the web, with Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Education. Not in the phone app yet.

  1. Open Settings > Security and login and turn on Developer mode
ChatGPT security settings, the Developer mode toggle turned on
  2. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins and click Add > Create MCP App
The Add menu on ChatGPT plugins, with Create MCP App
  3. Name it, paste the link under Connection and keep OAuth
    https://mcp.pacing.tools/mcp
  4. Tick I understand and want to continue and click Create
The New Plugin form filled in: name Pacing Tools, the link, OAuth, the risk box ticked
  5. Click Continue to Pacing Tools, sign in or join, and click Allow

In a new chat, add Pacing Tools to your message and ask away:

OpenAI’s developer mode guide

Claude Code, Codex and assistants like OpenClaw and Hermes. Send this to your agent:

Read https://pacing.tools/AGENTS.md and set up Pacing Tools MCP

It signs you in through the browser and checks the connection.

Set it up by hand

Apps without the browser sign-in connect with a key instead.

  1. Create one in Connections on your athlete page. It is shown once, so copy it
  2. Give your app the link and this header
    https://mcp.pacing.tools/mcp
    Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY

One key works in every app, up to five per account. Treat it like a password: if one leaks, revoke it in Connections and it stops working at once.

Needs Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise. If you already added Pacing Tools on claude.ai, it is already here. Otherwise add it, then sign in in the browser:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user pacing https://mcp.pacing.tools/mcp
claude mcp login pacing

If sign-in cannot work, add --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" to the first line instead.

Check it with claude mcp list, or /mcp inside a session.

What you add here works in Codex and in Work chats, not in regular ChatGPT chats. For those, use the ChatGPT tab.

  1. In the desktop app, open Settings, then MCP servers, and select Add server
  2. Name it pacing, choose Streamable HTTP, paste the link and add the header from Keys
  3. Save, then Restart

For the Codex command line or IDE extension, add it, then sign in in the browser:

codex mcp add pacing --url https://mcp.pacing.tools/mcp
codex mcp login pacing

If sign-in cannot work, add http_headers = { "Authorization" = "Bearer YOUR_KEY" } under [mcp_servers.pacing] in ~/.codex/config.toml.

Any app that takes a remote MCP link and a header works with the link and header from Keys. The server uses Streamable HTTP. Every tool is read-only, and each account gets 100 calls a day.
