Troubleshooting

Each entry starts with what you see, then what to do. Something missing here? Write to hi@pacing.tools.

In Claude, open + and then Connectors, and make sure Pacing Tools is switched on. In ChatGPT, add Pacing Tools to your message in a new chat. In Claude Code, Codex and other agents, start a new session so the tools load.

The sign-in took too long. Go back to your AI app and connect again.

The sign-in did not finish, or the key is wrong or revoked. Run the sign-in again from your AI app. With a key, check it in Connections and create a new one if needed.

ChatGPT does not offer it on the phone yet. Use ChatGPT on the web.

What you add in the ChatGPT desktop app’s MCP servers only works in Codex and Work chats. Add it again from the ChatGPT tab of the setup guide.

Nothing has come in yet. Connect Garmin or COROS, or upload files, on your athlete page. The first sync can take a while, then ask again.

Ask your AI to check for new activities. It asks your watch and reads again. If it says the sync is still running, ask again in a minute.

Garmin limits how fast we can fetch. The sync picks up again on its own within the hour.

On your athlete page, click Reconnect and tick both boxes on the COROS page. Past workouts can take a day to arrive.

COROS history arrives slowly, or new runs wait until tomorrow

Section titled “COROS history arrives slowly, or new runs wait until tomorrow”

COROS lets us fetch a limited number of activities a day. A long history takes a few days to arrive, and once the day’s limit is reached, new runs land the next day.

A list holds at most 30 at a time. Ask about a shorter period, or ask for weekly or monthly totals, which cover any range.

The file recorded none. We keep it empty rather than show a heart rate of 0.

Your AI says there is no Garmin connection

Section titled “Your AI says there is no Garmin connection”

Sleep, HRV, readiness and the rest come from Garmin only. Connect Garmin on your athlete page. We read no wellness from COROS today.

Garmin ended the connection. Disconnect Garmin on your athlete page and connect it again.

Readiness, HRV status, endurance or hill score come back empty

Section titled “Readiness, HRV status, endurance or hill score come back empty”

Not every watch records them. Older models such as the Forerunner 945 never do, so there is nothing to read. Pulse ox is also empty on days when it is switched off on the watch.

Today shows detraining with a weekly load of 0

Section titled “Today shows detraining with a weekly load of 0”

Garmin reports the current day that way until it closes. Ask about yesterday, or check again tomorrow.

The gear was set in another app, such as Strava, not in Garmin. We only read gear from Garmin.

Your AI says an activity did not come from Garmin

Section titled “Your AI says an activity did not come from Garmin”

The kilometer breakdown and gear only exist for activities recorded with Garmin. Laps and totals still work for every activity.

Each account gets 100 calls a day. The count resets at midnight UTC.

Garmin reads have their own daily limit. Your stored activities still answer until the day resets.

Your AI asked for too much in parallel. Wait for the running answers and ask again.

Something failed on our side. Send the reference from the message to hi@pacing.tools and we will look it up.
